He was an outstanding in the history of Bahmani period. He ruled a fairly long region of 19 years. He was a peaceful ruler patron of art and literature. He ascended the throne after Daud shah. He firstly took action by reappointing a great statesman Malik Saifudin Gori (grand old man of the deccan). He was a man of letters with great learning in persian and arabic. He patronized poets and philosophers. He took considerable interest in the welfare of his subjects. He promoted every kind of scheme that could remove the evils of rural and urban life. Mohammad shah took great interest in education, he established orphans schools at Gulbarga, Bidar, Dabul etc. He died on 20th April 1397 AD.
